In the sequel, Anarchy, Eva Sanchez acts as a negotiator between a group of people in the midst of trying to overrun the building where her family is placed. Through her presence, ultimately a consensus is reached and a calm is achieved – a remarkable feat in a situation that had become increasingly violent without her.

Finally, the wife can be instrumental in providing a moral and ethical guidance to the family unit. We see this in the third movie, Election Year. Here, it is the wife who is the driving force to try and keep her family from utilizing the weapons in their possession to get revenge; instead, they decide to seek a more peaceful and ethical solution to their problems.

In conclusion, the Purge provides an extreme but useful platform to show the multiple benefits that a wife can provide to a family. From providing protection and direction, to calming tempers and showing the way to an ethical and moral route, wives have been an invaluable asset to the Purge franchise. A wife is, ultimately, a valuable asset to any family, Purge or otherwise.
